Mmmmm Alfredo Sauce!
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Small Onion
2-3 Garlic Gloves
4 Cups Chicken Broth
1 Cup Milk
3 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
3/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions –
Heat Olive Oil in saucepan
Puree onion and garlic in food process or blender then add to saucepan
Let saute for 2-3 minutes
Add Chicken broth and bring to boil
In mixing bowl add flour to milk and whisk until completely smooth
Once the broth is boiling, slowly add the milk and flour mixture, be sure to whisk it in slowly to avoid clumps and to keep the boil going.
Turn heat to low, stir in parmesan and continue stirring until cheese is melted.
Add salt and pepper as needed.
I often like to add a teaspoon or so of red pepper flakes when serving over a pasta dish!
Use over noodles or use as a sauce for Chicken Cordon Bleu.
